Our History
In 1954, in Mundelein, a small town about 45 minutes north of Chicago, Charles Fenwick opened Fenwick Footwear, a true family shoe store. Fenwick Footwear served Lake County residents for over 25 years. In 1979 Fenwick Footwear relocated to Austin, Texas and purchased a small women’s shoe store. Sandy’s Shoes was transformed over the years into one of the most successful children’s shoe stores in the southwest.
Our New Location
Fast forward to 2010, and Sandy’s Shoes has taken another bold step. Sandy’s has relocated after 30+ years in the same shopping center. Our new location is nearly 3200 feet and includes a 700 square foot toy store that is really fantastic.
Our Foot Technology
Sandy’s also has solidified our reputation as leaders in children’s foot health by partnering with Aetrex, the leader in the technological advancement of foot health. Sandy’s now has two I-Step machines, which enable us to capture a total picture of your child’s foot and arch. The I-Step is the most technologically advanced device ever introduced to the footwear industry. Sandy’s has embraced this technology and will use it as we partner together with parents to provide children with the best fitting shoes possible.
